Tulsa Oklahoma Down Payment Assistance

Oklahoma Community Action Project
Clients should budget 30-45 days for the process as we are scheduling clients a month in advance for classes. The group classes and individual appointments are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. So please refer your clients to CAP at the beginning of the home buying process to ensure a slot in our program. Please see below the process in which the clients need to follow in order to receive assistance.
1) Attend Orientation Class in order to attend this class
all clients must call CAP to enroll in the class to reserve their seat, prior to
the class. If clients fail to contact CAP prior to the class to reserve
seating, they will not be allowed to attend the class and will need to
re-schedule for the next available class. All clients attending the Orientation
class will be responsible for bringing copies that CAP can keep of the following
documents.
· 2 months of
most recent paystubs for all adults in the
household
· Copy of a
tri-merge credit report generated by a lender within the past 30
days OR a $10.00 check or money order
so that CAP can pull a copy for review
· Copies of any
additional income that the household receives (social security, court awarded
child support, alimony, etc)
2)
Readiness Assessment - Once client completes the
Orientation class and are approved to proceed in the program they will meet
one-on-one with a housing counselor to review their individual readiness.
During this one-on-one meeting the credit report will be reviewed, and if
necessary the client will be placed on an action plan in an effort to improve
their credit score. We will also review their individual budget and make sure
they are comfortable with their proposed mortgage amount. This meeting will be
customized to each individuals need.
3)
Attend Seminar Class This is the last step in the
program. The seminar class lasts approximately 5 hours in length and must be
attended in order to obtain the graduation certificate.
All clients will need to follow the above steps in order to
participate in the First Time Homebuyer Program. It is important for your
clients to call and reserve a seat as soon as they begin the homebuyer process
and attend all scheduled appointments. This will allow us to make sure that we
process them in a timely manner. If you have any questions regarding our
program, please dont hesitate to call us. We appreciate your business and look
forward to serving your clients.
